Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is a Central Asian country with strong solar potential and growing opportunities for wind energy. Its high levels of sunlight make solar power particularly suitable for large-scale renewable projects, while its open landscapes provide opportunities for wind development. As electricity demand increases, Uzbekistan is investing in renewable energy, modernising its energy infrastructure, and improving energy efficiency to create a more secure and sustainable energy system. The country is also working to reduce its dependence on conventional energy sources and attract investment into clean technologies. Under its NDC 3.0, Uzbekistan aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions per unit of GDP by 50% by 2035 compared with 2010 levels, supporting its longer-term transition toward a greener and more resource-efficient economy.
