Clean Energy Hackathon 2026
The CECECO Clean Energy Hackathon 2026 is a regional initiative to empower youth across CECECO signatory states—Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan—to develop digital and data-driven solutions that promote clean energy awareness, energy efficiency, and sustainability. This competition provides a platform for youth to leverage creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship to address real-world energy challenges and advance clean energy progress.

About the Project
The CECECO Clean Energy Hackathon 2026 was designed for young innovators aged 16–35 from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Participants submitted proposals online under one of the following themes: Digital Awareness & Behavioral Change and Data for Policy, Planning & Implementation.
Following the announcement of the Hackathon on November 25, 2025, official information packages were disseminated to the Ministries of Energy and Ministries of Foreign Affairs of CECECO signatory states, ensuring direct institutional outreach and national-level awareness. In parallel, the Hackathon was actively promoted through CECECO’s communication and social media channels, including LinkedIn and X, to maximize visibility and youth engagement across the region.
ADA University served as the official academic partner of the Hackathon and played a key role in supporting its outreach and implementation. Through its institutional networks, ADA University facilitated the distribution of Hackathon-related information to partner universities, contributing significantly to broad participation from higher education institutions across the ECO region.
A total of 207 applications were received, from a diverse group of participants, with the
youngest aged 15 from the Kyrgyz Republic. Proposals were evaluated by an international
expert jury including representatives from CECECO and UNIDO.
The Award Ceremony took place on 23 January 2026 at ADA University, celebrating the
top projects:
1st Place: “EcoSense” – Uzbekistan
2nd Place: “Clean Axis” – Azerbaijan
3rd Place: “Sol-Scout Pro” – Kazakhstan
Special recognition awards were presented for technical excellence, energy efficiency
solutions, and digital tools for policy analysis.
The Hackathon highlighted youth-driven innovation and regional collaboration as key
drivers for accelerating sustainable energy solutions across the ECO region.
